During the 2023 Youth Engaged in Sustainable Systems (YESS) program this last summer, 6 of our high school students earned academic credit while honing their skills and delving into careers related to natural resources. Spanning 6 summer weeks, classroom instruction was complemented by practical experience through hands-on service at various community partner sites. At the program's conclusion, each student was provided with a proficiency document assessing their entry-level industry skills. This document serves as a valuable tool for students, enabling them to enhance their resumes and articulate their skills effectively when pursuing job opportunities.
