    Dear Glenwood School District Families,
I hope you have had a wonderful summer! It's hard to believe we are already preparing for back to school. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our fall return to education looks a little different than in the past, just like most things these days.
The health and safety of our students and staff is always my top priority, in addition to providing a quality education. With those priorities in mind, I am writing to share an update on our plans to deliver education this fall.
The Glenwood School District has been considering several options based on guidance we received from the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
The Glenwood School District is considering two primary options for education in the fall:

    1. An in-person model with masks and physical distancing- We are hoping that this will be the case. We will have temperature checks for all staff and students before they can enter into the school building. We will be providing masks. We will be doing school this way unless there is an outbreak locally or are told we are not able to due to Department of Health decision, Washington State Government and/or CDC guidelines.
    2. Distance/remote learning online-This distance/remote learning option will be an enhanced version of the approach we used in the spring of 2020. Depending on the progression of the virus, we may remain in this model or as fast as we can transition to some in-person instruction. Teachers will be in their classrooms teaching. Students will be at home. We are aware of the students that do not have Wi-Fi and have a plan for them also, it does not include sitting in a car.

As we all know, with the progression of the virus, plans and information may change. It is my pledge to keep you informed as we move forward together. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this unprecedented time together.
If you have questions, you can reach out to me at the school at 364-3438
